El impacto de la política comercial en América Latina y su impacto en el desarrollo

Resumen

En esta investigación se busco analizar como el implementar una política comercial internacional
donde incentiva el libre mercado puede afectar el desarrollo económico, la inversión directa
extranjera y el desempleo de 29 economías de América Latina, para lo cual se toma el Índice de
Libertad Económica que publica Heritage Foundation and Dow Jones & Company de 2012 a 2020
y se utiliza un análisis de datos de panel de efectos fijos lo que generó en 261 observaciones. Se
encontró que el tener una política enfocada en la libertad económica tienen un efecto significativo
y positivo en el desarrollo económico de los países, pero no se pudo comprobar que exista una
relación significativa con la inversión directa extranjera y el desempleo.
