Resumen

El presente documento, propone un procedimiento para la utilización del aplicativo ATLAS.ti para
la gestión de grandes volúmenes de datos en investigaciones de corte cualitativo, especialmente en
aquellas afines con las ciencias sociales, método caracterizado por el análisis hermenéutico a las
unidades de análisis abordadas en el trabajo empírico. El articulo describe cómo, desde una
rigurosidad metodológica, se concentra la información en unidades de análisis hermenéutico; donde
a través de la creación de códigos, citas libres, memos, categorías emergentes, familia de códigos y
redes semánticas se busca una sistematización en rigor del proceso investigativo desde sus inicios
hasta su fase final. Finalmente, se concluye la creciente demanda en la utilización de estas
herramientas informáticas por parte de investigadores en las ciencias sociales, otorgando al
investigador cualitativo y su capacidad creativa, la oportunidad de construir procesos rigurosos en el
manejo de datos que lo a cercan a la construcción teórica.
